The recent eruption of the second most active volcano in the Philippines, Taal volcano, mobilized Sterling Bank of Asia (SBA) through its Corporate Social Responsibility Program "Kind Heart Gives" to extend its assistance to the affected residents of Batangas.
Last February 1, 2020, SBA turned over assorted items ranging from basic hygiene kits, used clothes, foods, mattresses and cleaning equipment to the temporary shelter of 70 families at Barangay Talaibon in Ibaan, Batangas.
“Nothing is too small when it comes to helping, and that is the reason why we immediately decided to start an outreach for the affected communities who needs comfort.” Mr. Dan Guevara, SBA’s Vice President and Center for Learning Head. “We are thankful how SBA community responded to our call to help, with such short notice we were able to raise pledges and items to provide for those in need,” Guevara added.
"Sincere, committed, and dependable – that’s the brand of banking our staff should emulate not just at work but also in the community. “ Arlene Siongco, SBA’s Vice President and Compensation and Benefits Head. “We hope that in our small way, we were able to bring courage and hope to our fellow Filipinos,” said Siongco.
