Residents of Sitio Inasik, Norzagaray, Bulacan, is this year's beneficiary of Sterling Bank of Asia's Kind Heart Gives tagged as "Give Light on Christmas Day."

Sterling Bank of Asia (SBA), one of the country's leading thrift banks, in partnership with My Shelter Foundation’s Isang Litrong Liwanag (A Liter of Light), started the year 2020 by distributing 120 solar lamps to the community of Sitio Inasik. The activity was headed by SBA's President and CEO, Mr. Cecilio Paul San Pedro, together with Sterling Bank volunteers.

"We are thankful that the residents of Sitio Inasik embraced us to their community," said San Pedro. "Providing them this solar bottle will not just illuminate their homes for the next five years, but will also help their children not to struggle in the dark as they build and reach their dreams," explained San Pedro.

Rina Baldonado, 33, mother of 7, shared her delight upon receiving her solar lamp, "Napakalaking tulong nito para sa aming pamilya, hindi na namin kailangang gumamit ng gasera para mag ka-ilaw sa gabi."  

"Nag papasalamat kami sa Sterling Bank of Asia dahil ang baranggay namin ang napili nilang pagkalooban ng mga solar lights," Florencio Abiol, Sitio Inasik Baranggay Captain. "Malaking tulong ito, hindi lang para sa pang araw-araw na pamumuhay, kundi para sa pag aaral ng mga kabataan." Abiol added.

Right after the turnover, SBA volunteers also distributed food and gift items to the residents.

Sterling Bank of Asia’s Kind Heart Gives is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that allows the bank and every employee an opportunity to share and give back to its chosen community.
